She therefore informed the graduates that their graduation is the beginning of a new journey, as such they should know the level of value attached to the education that they have received which is a high level of responsibility to themselves and the country at large.
“Liberia currently faces enormous challenges. The education sector is of no exception. A typical Liberian child today can expect to complete only 4.2 years of school by their 18th birth; however, the low quality of education means that learning adjusted years of schooling is merely 2.2 years,” Madam Rodriguez lamented.
In conclusion, she challenged the over five hundred graduates of the LICOSESS College of Education not to settle for mediocrity, but they should think nationally and globally, while acting locally. Urging them to always remember that their lessons should be captivating for their students and treat them with the utmost respect.

According to Dr. Wehyee, LICOSESS came from a humble beginnings as an Associate of Arts Degree granting institution to its current status as full Baccalaureate degree granting institution for teacher education in Liberia. He wants staff to uphold the highest standards of academic excellence and commitment to nurturing the next generation of educators.
He noted that the graduation of seventy three students from the USAID-TESTS project represents a culmination of three years of hard work, dedication, and collaboration.
He narrated that the USAID-TESTS project started since 2021 and will continue until 2026, adding the project is a beacon of hope and progress in the field of teacher education and lauded the generous support of the United States Government through USAID.
