Ahead of the Monday exchange, Dr. Randy Nelson, Director of International Programs at the University of Sioux Falls in South Dakota, led me on a full-day tour.

We visited various places including Sioux Falls, the namesake of the city and university, the historical Cathedral of Saint Joseph, the University of Sioux Falls Sports Stadium, Sioux Falls Christian High School, Washington High School, and even took a 10-minute drive into Minnesota and Iowa. A highlight was standing in three US States simultaneously at the Tri State Monument, with one leg in Minnesota, one in South Dakota, and my hand reaching into Iowa. It was a truly remarkable experience that provided a unique perspective on the region’s geography and history.
